Eckert Nets First Career Goal as Highlanders Draw Season Opener with Rider, 1-1, on Sunday Afternoon
NEWARK, NJ 鈥� The NJIT women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a 1-1 draw against Rider on Sunday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at J. Malcolm Simon Stadium. The Broncs struck first in the 38th minute on their second shot on goal to take the early lead right before halftime. The Highlanders response came in the 58th minute when freshman Paige Eckert found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal, assisted by junior Sofia Mignon, to tie the match.
