A legendary voice of hockey in Calgary has been lost. On Thursday, former Calgary Flames radio broadcaster Peter Maher passed away at the age of 79. Maher was the radio play-by-play announcer for the Flames from the 1980-81 season, the team鈥檚 first in Calgary, until his retirement upon the completion of the 2013-14 season. A true ironman, Maher called every Flames game over those 33 years on Calgary鈥檚 sports radio station CFAC.
