MARSHALL, Texas – Academic excellence continues to be a core part of the East Texas Baptist University softball program as 17 student-athletes were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athletes. The softball program has now had NFCA Scholar-Athletes for 10 consecutive years. ETBU posted a 3.69 overall grade point average for the year as Avery Holland and Makayla Menchue were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-American First Team. There were also 24 student-athletes named to the American Southwest Conference All-Academic team.
