Moving on to the next level from 2025: Kobe Wright, DL (Iowa Western), George Richter, DE (Drake), Logan Sutton, DB (St. Louis U-Baseball), Brooks Ragland, LB (Northern Iowa), Grady Coppinger, LB (Pittsburg State), Jonathan Pearcy, OL (Wyoming), Lincoln Dwiggins, Kicker (Emporia State), Deacon Price, Returner (Benedictine), Colt Holin, RB (Truman State), Brooks Lawson, OL (Sioux Falls), Trey Endsley, OL (Central Missouri), and Connor Hatfield, QB (Sioux Falls).
The Blue Jays have had winning seasons for five of the past six years and have won two consecutive district titles and a conference championship.
Now, with the departure of the large and talented 2025 class, the Jays are focused on reloading with up-and-coming players eager to seize their opportunity.
鈥淟ast year we had 32 seniors,鈥� says head coach Chad Frigon. 鈥淲e’re closer to 20 this year, which is more of our normal size senior class. We have a good junior class this year, and I feel good about them. Then we have sophomores that’ll be competing for spots as well. We’ve seen that competition this summer, and that’s been good鈥攕ome kids have really stepped up.鈥�
Stepping into a leadership role on offense will be senior quarterback Cade Moberly (6-3, 195).
鈥淗e鈥檚 a kid who played JV last year and the year before, serving behind a talented quarterback. We feel great about him coming in鈥攈e’s had a really good summer,鈥� says Frigon.
Another key contributor is Masen Bindel (6-1, 230), an All-Conference and All-District running back and linebacker. As the fourth of the Bindel brothers, he has been a staple in the offense for several seasons and will play both sides of the ball this year.
The Jays also return two more All-Conference standouts: Maison Bowman (6-2, 195), a senior tight end and accomplished baseball player, and Jake Lawhead (6-4, 290), a First Team All-Conference selection anchoring the offensive line.
Adding to their depth, the Jays have a large junior class, with over forty on the roster. Notable juniors include Collin Frawley (6鈥�6鈥�, 260) on the line and Stone Sherlock (6-3, 225), who contributes at both tight end and linebacker. In the backfield, Jace Hicks (5-11, 180)鈥攚ho posted a 10.88 in the 100m during track season and is the younger brother of 2024 Simone winner Jaxon Hicks鈥攕hould see plenty of carries.
With a blend of experienced seniors and a deep, talented junior class, the Blue Machine is reloaded and ready for action in 2026. The team appears poised to continue its tradition of excellence, and fans can look forward to another exciting season as the Jays aim to build on their recent success.
