Macomb, IL - The Western Illinois women's soccer team opened its 2026 preseason with a hard-fought 1-0 exhibition loss to Northern Illinois University on Wednesday. The Leathernecks kept the match tied for nearly the entire contest before a Northern Illinois goal broke the tie in the 87th minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Lillian Johns turned in an outstanding performance in net, recording 10 saves to keep Western Illinois in the match.
