A rising name among hockey executives is heading to Long Island. On Monday, the New York Islanders announced that the team has hired Evan Gold as the team’s new assistant general manager. Gold joins Mathieu Darche’s staff, working in all facets of hockey operations, working with fellow AGMs Chris Lamoriello, Ryan Bowness and Steve Pellegrini. He’ll be involved with contract negotiations, contract strategy, scouting, salary cap management and more.
