Yeung Wins Second Maryland State Amateur
Helen Yeung won four matches in two days to claim her second Maryland State Amateur in three years. The rising junior from Clarksville, Md., beat Zoe Cusack 3&2 on Wednesday in the championship match. Yeung, who also won the 2024 state title, had eliminated the 2025 champion Cameron Freund 4&2 in the semifinals. With the win, Yeung earns a berth in the 2026 United States Women's Amateur next month in Ooltewah, Tenn. Yeung has seven top-10 finishes in two collegiate seasons and has compiled the second-best scoring average (72.81) in UNC women's golf history.
