SMU Named NABC Team Academic Excellence Honoree, Three Mustangs Earn Spot On The Honors Court
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (SMU/NABC) 鈥� The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced SMU as one of its 2025-26 Team Academic Excellence Award recipients and three Mustangs were named to the NABC Honors Court on Wednesday. This is the second straight team honor for SMU. The team earned this recognition by completing the 2025-26 year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Jaron Pierre Jr. , who was selected in the NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans, as well as Niccolo Kalischer-Stork and Mitchell Holmes all secured spots on the NABC Honors Court.
