DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University Athletics begins a new era as the Huskies formally join the Horizon League, Mountain West Conference and Pac-12 Conference ahead of the 2026-27 school year. NIU programs will compete in the Horizon League in men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s cross country, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, baseball and softball.
