Avalanche trade Valeri Nichushkin to Blue Jackets for trio of draft picks
A talented forward is on the move. The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired Russian winger Valeri Nichushkin from the Colorado Avalanche, the teams announced on Thursday. Going back to Colorado in the deal are a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick. Nichushkin had 49 points (17 goals and 32 assists) in 72 games last season. He also recorded two goals and two assists in 12 playoff games. The 31-year-old spent the last seven seasons in Colorado, after playing his first four with the Dallas Stars.
