Local fencers win four medals
Published 9:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2026 Members of Oxford Lafayette Fencing brought home four medals from the 2026 Mississippi Games, earning top finishes while representing local schools in competition against fencers from across the state and region. Gold medals were awarded to Sabrina Dinius and Luke Whelan in their respective divisions. Jason Platt and Bremen Ernest each earned silver medals. The medalists represented schools in the Oxford and Lafayette County area, including Oxford, Lafayette, Montessori and Regents.
