COMMERCE – East Texas A&M University track and field student-athletes Jonas Gran and Romi Griese were named to the Academic All-District teams, as selected by the College Sports Communicators, on Tuesday. Both Gran (Riehen, Switzerland) and Griese (Salzkotten, Germany) have been named to the Academic All-District teams for the second year in a row. Gran scored points for the Lions at both the indoor and outdoor conference championships this past season, including taking fifth in the indoor heptathlon, fifth in the outdoor decathlon, and sixth in the outdoor javelin among Southland competitors.
