Mathias Breaks Two American Records in Indianapolis
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana swimming and diving director of operations Van Mathias broke his second American record of the week Saturday (June 21) at the TYR Pro Swim Series inside the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. After breaking his own American record in the 50-meter event Wednesday, Mathias swam a 58.01 in Saturday's 100-meter breaststroke final to better Michael Andrew's 2021 mark (58.14). Between Mathias and former IU swimmer Lilly King, Hoosiers own seven American records in breaststroke events.
