North Polk girls soccer player Blythe Knight and Woodward-Granger baseball player Clayton Noah were voted the Des Moines Register's female and male Athlete of the Week winners for the week of June 7-13. Knight won female Athlete of the Week with 52% of the vote. She helped North Polk claim its first girls state soccer championship by anchoring a stout Comet defense throughout the week. Knight was named the 2A all-tournament team captain after playing a key defensive role in the Comets' 2-1 victory over Waverly-Shell Rock in the quarterfinals on June 9, followed by a pair of shutout victories....
