Carey Wins USA U20 Javelin Title, Earns Spot on Team USA for World Championships
June 18, 2026 EUGENE, Ore. – Rising sophomore Nolan Carey of the Penn State track and field team earned a spot on Team USA for the World Under-20 Championships after winning the USA U20 javelin title Thursday afternoon at Hayward Field. Carey recorded a throw of 66.38 meters to claim the national title. His mark came on his second attempt of the preliminary round and secured his place in the final round, where it ultimately stood as the winning distance.
