Mathias Breaks Own American Record
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana swimming and diving director of operations Van Mathias broke his own American record in the 50-meter breaststroke Wednesday (June 17) at the TYR Pro Swim Series inside the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. Mathias also claimed the U.S. Open record with his 26.30, nine hundredths of a second faster than the 26.39 he fired off at the Bergen Swim Festival on April 19 to originally become the fastest American all-time.
