Ladner, B.C. – The Vancouver Giants have acquired a conditional first-round pick in 2028 and a seventh-round pick in 2030 from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for the playing rights to 2007-born forward Mason West. West, from Edina, Minnesota, played last season for the Fargo Force in the USHL and is currently committed to Michigan State University. He was added to the Giants protected list during the 2024-25 season. This gives the Giants potentially four first-round picks in 2028: their own, Kelowna's, Seattle's and Portland's.
