By: Stevie Larson, Sports Information Director INSTITUTE – The West Virginia State University athletic department recorded a 3.11 overall GPA during the spring 2026 semester, the 16th consecutive semester that WVSU student-athletes have achieved a department GPA of 3.0 or higher. WVSU also had 180 student-athletes named Dr. John L. Fuller Sr. Scholar-Athletes. The Yellow Jackets had 71% of student-athletes record a GPA above 3.0 this semester, with 30 student-athletes recording a 4.0 GPA.
