Islanders sign Ethan Bear to one-year contract extension
The New York Islanders have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract extension with defenseman Ethan Bear, the club announced Monday morning. Bear, 28, spent the entirety of the 2025-26 season with the AHL鈥檚 Bridgeport Islanders, collecting four goals and 27 points in 40 games. The 5鈥�11鈥� right-shot defender also skated in two games with the club in the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs. The Islanders originally signed Bear to a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2025.
