Olivia Welch, Paul Bruggeman voted the Register鈥檚 Athletes of the Week
Norwalk girls soccer player Olivia Welch and Des Moines Christian boys soccer player Paul Bruggeman were voted the Des Moines Register's female and male Athlete of the Week winners from the metro area for the week of May 31-June 6. Welch was voted female Athlete of the Week with 44% of the vote. Welch helped No. 1 Norwalk roll into the girls state soccer tournament with a 6-1 win over Carlisle in a regional title game on June 4. She fired off eight shots and scored twice to help the Warriors cruise into the state tournament with a 16-1-2 record....
