At Hayward Field, Avery Pearson competed in the women’s 800-meter run, while Abbey Nechanicky ran in the women’s 10,000 meters. Running in the 800-meter semifinals, Pearson posted a time of 2 minutes, 2.94 seconds to place 20th overall. The top nine advanced to Saturday’s finals.
