EUGENE – Texas A&M track & field’s Zaza Nnamdi won the men’s javelin national title on the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday at Hayward Field. Nnamdi’s national crown highlighted the first day of the championships for the Maroon & White, as the Awka, Nigeria, native dominated from start to finish. He set the tone from his first throw, recording a mark of 82.26m/269-10 which jumped him to the top of the leaderboard. The seniors initial mark held throughout the contest and ensured his win.
