Cootes named a finalist for CHL Sportsman of the Year Award
Prince Albert Raiders forward Braeden Cootes has been named a finalist for the CHL Sportsman of the Year Award. The winner of this award is chosen from the recipients of the Brad Hornung Memorial Trophy (WHL Most Sportsmanlike Player), the William Hanley Trophy (OHL Most Sportsmanlike Player), and the David-Desharnais Trophy (QMJHL Most Sportsmanlike & Effective Player). Cootes played 17 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2025-26, before being dealt to Prince Albert in a blockbuster deal.
