Murphy Claims Two Major Awards as All-Liberty League is Announced
The Liberty League conference announced its year-end awards for the outdoor track and field season on Tuesday morning, with first-year Lauren Murphy being recognized with two major awards following voting done by the league’s coaches. Murphy was selected as the conference Field Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year following a standout rookie season in the jumps events for the Yellowjackets. Murphy is the first Liberty League Field Athlete of the Year from URochester since Eileen Bequette was honored in 2019, one year after Kylee Bartlett received the same praise.
