Cano, Gbakinro Wraps Seasons as UTA Concludes Outdoor Track & Field Campaign
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. 鈥� The UTA Track and Field team concluded its 2026 outdoor season Friday evening at John McDonnell Field, competing in the NCAA West First Round hosted by Arkansas. Freshman Lucas Cano competed in the men's discus, recording a throw of 48.79 meters. Freshman Abisayo Gbakinro represented the Mavericks in the men's triple jump, posting a mark of 15.02 meters to place 36th overall. THOUGHTS FROM COACH Solid first round for us.
