Acharya defends title at Nepal International Amateur Golf Championship
KATHMANDU, Nepal — UTSA’s Sam Acharya successfully defended his individual title at the 12th Nepal International Amateur Golf Championship at Gokarna Golf Club. Playing in his hometown, the rising sophomore fired a 9-under-par 207 to repeat as champion, finishing four shots ahead of Vivaan Ubhayakar. After opening the 54-hole tournament with a 3-under 69, Acharya registered a 6-under 66 in round two, setting him up with a five-stroke advantage entering the final day.
