Notre Dame lacrosse defenseman Shawn Lyght wins Tewaaraton Award
WASHINGTON (WNDU) - Notre Dame junior Shawn Lyght made history on Thursday evening, becoming the first defenseman in history to win the Tewaaraton Award, which is presented to the top college lacrosse player in the country each year. Lyght is the second Tewaaraton winner in program history, joining Pat Kavanagh who won the honor in 2024. Notre Dame now has nine Tewaaraton finalists in program history. The four other finalists for this year鈥檚 award, all attackmen, were Owen Duffy (North Carolina), Willem Firth (Cornell), Nate Kabiri (Princeton) and Joey Spallina (Syracuse).
