NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball program has added the 2025-26 Gatorade Delaware Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Amalia Fruchtman, head coach Sarah Jenkins announced Wednesday. The 6-1 forward comes upstate to Newark out of Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes, Del. Fruchtman was a four-year starter in high school, helping the Vikings to two conference championships. Over her career, she averaged 21 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Fruchtman was a 1,000-point scorer in high school, closing out her career with 1,395.
