By: Brendon Reese GREENWOOD, Ind. – Mount Union’s softball team had three players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® teams. Senior Sydney Mercer (Salem / West Branch), senior Emily Denney (Poland / Poland Seminary) and sophomore Allison Jones (Berlin Center / Western Reserve) were all named. Mercer is a management major with a 3.522 GPA. She has played and started in all 42 games for the Purple Raiders this season, batting .387 with 13 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 30 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.
