BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel has announced the addition of Mafalda Monteiro to the program. Monteiro, a 5-11 guard, will join the Falcon family for the 2026-27 academic year. Monteiro, a native of Portugal, has represented her country in various competitions over the past few years, including the FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket in 2025. She averaged 7.9 points per game in seven games there, after averaging 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket Division B the previous year.
