Girls basketball in the Sun Preps region is loaded with talent, and that was on full display this year. DeSoto County had the area鈥檚 best season and narrowly missed out on a spot in the state final four. Port Charlotte was working with a rebuilt roster that included new players in crucial positions, and they made it through a tough schedule to emerge as district champions for a sixth straight season.
