Hampel Dominant in Shutout Win Over SVU; Pride Advance to Winner鈥檚 Bracket of Conference Tournament
Misenheimer, NC – Greensboro College Softball played in game one of the USA South Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon and took down Southern Virginia 1-0 behind a complete game shutout by senior Raina Hampel . Hampel turned in a gem, going all seven innings with six strikeouts and only allowed three hits. The win improves Hampel’s record to 7-3 on the season. Offensively, both teams remained scoreless until the fifth inning. With two outs, Anna Frazier stole second base and advanced to third on an error. Then, Olivia Hyatt hit an RBI single that would prove to be the game-winner.…
