Vierck in fifth to lead Wolves at GNAC Combined Events Championships after day one
ELLENSBURG, Wash. --- Makenna Vierck sits in fifth place in the heptathlon and Gabe Burchfield is in eighth in the decathlon after day one at the GNAC Outdoor Combined Events Championships on Monday at Recreation Sports Complex. Vierck, a freshman, has 2,698 points after four of the seven events - 337 points behind leader Ellie DeGroot of Central Washington (3,035 points). Vierck placed fifth in the 100 hurdles, high jump and 200 while taking 10th in the shot put.
