Hilltoppers Open MEC Championships with Strong Sprint, Multi-Event Performances
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. 鈥� The West Liberty University men’s and women’s track & field teams opened competition at the 2026 Mountain East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday with a series of strong performances across sprints, distance events, throws, and multi-events. West Liberty saw multiple athletes advance to finals on the track while also putting together solid opening-day showings in the decathlon and heptathlon. Sophomore Tristin Ohler highlighted the day on the track, posting a first-place finish in the 200-meter prelims with a time of 21.03 to automatically qualify for the finals.
