Moundbuilders Drop Final Series, Close 2026 Season in Salina
SALINA, Kan. — Southwestern wrapped up its 2026 season this weekend at Kansas Wesleyan, showing offensive flashes across all three games despite dropping the series to the nationally ranked Coyotes. The Moundbuilders (15-34, 9-27 KCAC) came out strong in Thursday’s opener, plating seven runs in the first inning behind home runs from Sam Benz and Preston Carrillo. Benz drove in three runs while Carrillo added four RBIs in the 18-8 final, as Southwestern jumped out early before Kansas Wesleyan rallied late.
