Copeland wins javelin throw at SIAC Championships
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Fielding a young team that saw many of the competitors representing the school for the first time, Miles' performance at the 2026 SIAC Women's Track and Field Championships presented by Toyota did not yield a team title. But the Lady Bears did produce an individual champion in Karea Copeland. Copeland, a freshman, won the javelin throw with a distance of 114 feet and 5 inches, more than two feet beyond second-place finisher Ariyah Graham of Albany State.
