Prairie Stars Fall to Maryville
The Illinois Springfield women’s tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Maryville on Friday afternoon at home. UIS came up short in the race for the doubles point. At No. 1, Niamh Grogan and Ema Norma Bordean fell 6-2, while the No. 2 pair of Alisha Deogaonkar and Maria Garcia Gama also lost by a 6-2 score. The Prairie Stars picked up a win at No. 3, where Jane Carter and Cristina Mendoza Romero earned a 6-2 victory, but Maryville secured the doubles point with wins on the top two courts.
