RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The California State University San Bernardino women’s track & field team opened the Chris Rinne Invitational Friday with the hammer throw. Melissa Fongod (Corona, Calif.) was the top Coyote finisher, tossing a PR of 40.95 meters to place third overall in the event. Sophomore Madi Gutierrez (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was close behind, recording a toss of 40.55 meters. Behind Gutierrez was fifth place finisher Kennedi Jones (San Diego, Calif.) at 38.11 meters, followed by sophomore Melanie Radan (Las Vegas, Nev.) at 35.60 meters.
