For the Last Time, UNK Beats Newman
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney tennis teams both beat Newman, 7-0 (men) and 6-1 (women), Friday afternoon in Kearney. The 34th-ranked Loper men move to 15-6 (3-2) while the women improve to 10-9 (4-4). Prior to first serve, seniors Clary Plachy (Lincoln Pius) and Alex Jaulin (Australia) were honored for their five and three years of service, respectively. It was a bit of a somber day as this was the last-ever event for Jet tennis; both programs are being eliminated at the end of the academic year, and neither squad will advance to next week’s MIAA Tournament.
