Austin Melvin Earns Return Trip To NCAA Division II Championships
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sophomore Austin Melvin recorded a season-best and NCAA Division II Championship qualifying effort in the men’s pole vault as Roberts Wesleyan University vaulters captured the top three spots at the Bill Q Invitational hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday. Melvin, a second-team All-American last spring, cleared 5.17 meters (16-feet, 11 ½-inches) to finish first for the Redhawks. Jordan Bryner (4.55m, 16-2) placed second and Terron Metz (4.6m, 15-1) placed third.
