Women’s Tennis Comes Up Short Twice in Iowa
WAVERLY, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point lost back-to-back matches for the first time this season falling to Cornell, 5-2, and Wartburg, 4-3, on Sunday. Against Cornell, the Pointers won the team doubles point. Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) and Ellie Aitken (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) got a 7-5 win at No. 2. Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) and Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) needed a tiebreak, 7-6 (1), to earn the win at No. 3. Brosteau got a win at No. 6 singles in a super-breaker. She won the opening set, 6-1, and prevailed in the super-breaker, 1-0 (3).…
