Barton baseball rallies to beat Southern Wesleyan, 7-6, in weekend series opener
WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (9-28, 6-22) rallied with a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull out a 7-6 win over Southern Wesleyan (14-30, 8-20) Friday afternoon in the opening game of a Conference Carolinas series at Nixon Field. Barton sophomore outfielder Trevin Garner (Chapin, S.C.) hit the game-winning sacrifice fly – scoring junior designated hitter David Lieux (Montgomery, Ala.) – as the Bulldogs won their second consecutive game.
