IUP drops doubleheader to Clarion
BUTLER, Pa. — IUP and Clarion entered Sunday's doubleheader separated by a half-game in the PSAC standings. The four-game weekend series opened with a 3-2 walk-off win for Clarion, followed by an 11-1 victory for the Golden Eagles at Pullman Park. Derrick Shields threw a strong outing in Game 1 but fell four outs short of a complete game. He pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits.
