Memphis basketball adds another Briarcrest standout in Parker Pounds
Briarcrest standout Parker Pounds announced his commitment to Memphis basketball April 15. The 6-5 high school senior had previously been committed to Air Force. His pledge to Tigers coach Penny Hardaway follows that of another Briarcrest product, Fred Smith Jr., who made his announcement on April 9. In addition to Smith, Pounds joins a growing roster in the midst of a large-scale revamp. It already includes holdovers Julius Thedford and William Whorton, as well as freshman four-star guard Cello Jackson Jr., and transfer signees Rihards Vavers and Brandin "Beebah" Cummings.
