LSU鈥檚 Barnes and Sophia Nominated for SEC鈥檚 H. Boyd McWhorter Award
April 15, 2026 – 11:11 AM +0 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. 鈥� The conference office announced Women鈥檚 Swimming & Diving鈥檚 Megan Barnes and Men鈥檚 Track and Field鈥檚 Matthew Sophia are the 2026 LSU nominees for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship. The H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship has been presented by the Southeastern Conference since 1986 to the league鈥檚 top male and female scholar-athletes. The Southeastern Conference will name the 2026 recipients of the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship in late April.
