Doug Gugel Earns CCS Golfer of the Week
ATLANTA – Piedmont men’s golf junior Doug Gugel has been named the Collegiate Conference of the South Golfer of the Week, the league announced Wednesday afternoon. The junior from Winter Springs, Florida put together an outstanding second and final round performances, firing back-to-back par-or-better rounds to climb into the top 10 on the individual leaderboard. After opening with a 6-over 77 at the Sam Snead Collegiate in Williamsburg, Virginia, Gugel fought back with an even par second round of 71, before going even lower in the final round, posting a 1-under 70.
