TAHLEQUAH -- Northeastern State saw an early back-and-forth contest slip away after Arkansas-Fort Smith erupted for 15 runs in the fifth inning, handing the RiverHawks a 21-9 loss on Tuesday in MIAA play. The RiverHawks (13-28, 8-18 MIAA) matched the Lions through the first four innings, erasing deficits and eventually tying the game at 6-6 midway through the contest.
