LocalSportsJournal.com Madison VanSickle struck out seven batters in eight innings and the Ludington girls softball team defeated Grant, 3-2 in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader Monday night. The second game was called because of darkness with the Tigers leading, 19-5 after four innings. In the opener, Ludington had only one hit, by Noelle Brooks, until the eighth with the teams tied, 1-1. Once the game entered the eighth, international tiebreaker rules went into effect, with a runner automatically stationed at second base. Grant took the lead, 2-1 in the top of the eighth.
