Castro Named Second Team All-Met
Hoboken, N.J. 鈥� Leyla Castro of the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s basketball team was named Second Team All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, it was announced Monday. The senior guard earned her second consecutive Second Team All-Met honor. Castro closed out her career on Castle Point with three All-Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom selections and was named the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year in 2023. Castro ranked in the top three in conference play in points (14.8), assists (4.7), and steals (2.6) per game, while becoming the 14th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.
