Baseball Comets Grab SCC Win
The Greenville High School varsity baseball team opened South Central Conference play Friday with a 5-1 victory at Staunton. Drake Curry and Gage Glynn delivered RBI singles, and Drake Graber and Christian Swalley also drove in runs. Other Comets with hits were Dominic Sanchez, Rowdy Sussenbach and Trey Melton. Sussenbach earned the pitching win, tossing five and two-thirds innings. He struck out eight and gave up just two hits. Curry was on the mound one and one third innings, striking out three batters.
